USU seeks legislative OK to build new athletic facility

Now that the 2011 legislative session is under way, Utah State University officials are hoping to secure approval to build a new athletics competition and practice facility. The proposed 28,000-square-foot facility would serve as a practice facility and a venue for volleyball and potentially women's basketball. It would also include offices, meeting spaces, training rooms and possibly some education space, according to a Utah Board of Regents agenda report. The facility would cost $7.5 million to build and would be funded through private donations. Logan Daily Herald
