USU research grants booming

Research is booming at Utah State University, with the institution receiving a record $187 million in funding during the 2010 fiscal year, a 29 percent increase over 2009.
That boost translates to an additional $49 million for USU faculty studying everything from geothermal energy opportunities on the Snake River Plain to algae biofuels to hearing-aid performance in noisy environments.
