USU vet med program a reality

After years of planning and a big push by Utah State University officials during this year's legislative session, the joint doctorate of veterinary medicine program is finally lifting off the ground. The USU Board of Trustees approved some administrative restructuring Friday that will create a School of Veterinary Medicine, the first professional program in veterinary medicine offered in Utah. The approval means the school will be established in January 2012. At that time, a review of applications to admit the first group of students will commence, Noel Cockett, the dean of the College of Agriculture, told Trustees. Herald Journal
